The new 50' cat was created for Outerlimits customers whose love for speed knows no limits.
|
  |
The 50' catamaran is bred for the wild--water, spirit
and colors! Built totally of carbon fiber, the
cat is strong and stealthy, light enough to land softly,
but tough enough for rough water. Powered with stock
Mercury Racing 1200's the cat has seen speeds in excess
of 160 mph.
As with all Outerlimits Powerboats, the
50' Cat is highly technical in its construction; made
entirely of carbon fiber and post cured epoxy with
Nomex honeycomb bulkheads. The engine compartment
is a clear carbon fiber "monocoque" unit. The clean
engine installation gives the appearance of an engine
in space - with all
wiring and fluid supply lines being hidden. The
seamless bilge is strong, clean and light. This installation
is the same technique used in airplanes and race cars.
Available in both a stern drive and shaft drive, the
Michael Peters designed bottom has been modified by
Outerlimits improving on an already great design. Post-curing
ensures the perfection and uniform finish of each Outerlimits
Powerboat. The slow baking
and cooling in a computerized oven assures that the
full strength of the materials is realized and gives
each boat the durable finish that stands up to all
Mother Nature's wrath.
Offered in both an open or enclosed
canopy, comfort is a key element. The cockpit is luxurious
- built with fine leathers and suede including a hand
stitched leather dash, carpeting, state-of-the-art
instrumentation, computerized electronics and GPS chart
plotter, making the Outerlimits Cat, not just a powerboat,
but a species all of its own. Various power options
are available, but Mercury Racing's 1200 engines, with
the super-charged 557-cubic inch V-8 cylinder block,
provide an ideal power package for this sleek, muscular
cat.
